Raised outside of Washington D.C, versatile MC Dragonfly considers himself abstract and his music a universal podium that amplifies hip hop. From an array of different perspectives, his sound and lyrics are complete with a rolodex of styles such as Cinema, Continuous boxing, War Gah and phraseology that has never been heard.

After writing for years, Dragonfly finally found his spot in the Hip hop game with group The Beggas, formed in the Nations capital in 1993. The Beggas released their first hit in 1995 entitled "Super Natural" (Dragonfly featured on "Iron Wire" & "Super Natural") which still can be heard all over the country and overseas. In 1998, The Beggas were featured on Wu-Tang’s certified gold compilation album, The Swarm- Vol. 1, with "On the Strength" (Featuring Dragonfly/The Beggas).

Since The Beggas surfaced in the music scene still proclaimed Beggas, Dragonfly paired up with Beggas members Long Axe and Bologah and the trio formed Black Lotus. While continuing on their group projects, Dragonfly released a solo single in 2005 entitled Dry Tears ("Goodness" & "Take Me") produced by Yukon Black and Ooh Aah.

In 2005, Black Lotus released their debut album "Lotus Notes" including hits "18 to Party" & "Seen and Heard". The album received rave reviews for its overwhelming feel and lyrics. When listening to this album one can travel through different dimensions of the hip hop culture.

In 2006, Dragonfly released his solo album entitled 9000 Miles. On this album you can expect to be taken on a lyrical journey. Dragonfly considers himself the "Soul Sinatra" and "Birdo Flapp" of hip hop. Dragonfly combines his lyrical experience with sarcasm, reality and exceptional punch lines and accompanies that with silk smooth, funky and soulful melodies and has been known as the cat with the golden voice and ridiculous hooks.

In 2007 Dragonfly worked on several projects with other Emcees, Producers, Artists and Deejay’s and networked with artists over seas and created a great following in China and in the United Nations. This gave him the opportunity to experience Hip Hop from different sides of the country and world.

In 2008 Dragonfly released his first solo mixed taped entitle "Dragonslayer" which was a big hit underground. Dragonfly also completed his mixed cd entitled "Swagger of a Drunken Master" which is available now on his official website along with other free music downloads.
